New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to a 20-year-old woman who was allegedly gang-raped in Kasturba Nagar. At the same time, CM Kejriwal said that the government will appoint a competent lawyer to represent her in the fast-track court.

In a tweet, Kejriwal wrote, "I have ordered financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to help this daughter. The Delhi government will do everything possible to get her justice. We will appoint a good lawyer for her. The case will be fast-tracked so that the daughter gets justice as soon as possible.'' In this case, the Delhi Police has so far arrested eight women and a man, as well as three juveniles. Police had said the attack on the woman on January 26 was due to personal enmity.

A 20-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted and gang-raped in Delhi's Vivek Vihar area. After this, the parade of the victim was also carried out. It is being claimed that the victim had turned down the proposal of a minor boy of the family of the accused, after which the youth committed suicide. At the same time, the family members of the deceased held the girl responsible for his death.
