Amritsar: Controversy in the Congress in Punjab. A new spark has erupted in the party amid clashes between CM Captain Amarinder Singh and state Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu. According to media reports, Punjab Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has reached the party headquarters in Chandigarh to attend the MLA's meeting here. According to sources, the Congress high command has also demanded the resignation of CM Captain Amarinder Singh.

According to media reports, Amarinder Singh has since told Sonia Gandhi that the key MLAs cannot remain associated with the party with such insults before the meeting. Meanwhile, there is speculation that a major change could be made in the cabinet today. It is being reported that the legislature party meeting scheduled for the evening has been ordered to elect a new leader.

The Congress has convened an important meeting of Punjab MLAs today in a tweet late in the night, citing "representation of a large number of MLAs". The meeting could be a source of trouble for CM Amarinder Singh as more than 40 rebel MLAs have written to the party high command demanding his removal. Let us tell you that  CM Amarinder Singh has been the target of rebel leaders for a long time.
