Amritsar: Voting for assembly elections in Punjab is scheduled to be held on February 20. Earlier, Congress has started looking for a CM face in Punjab. Congress, like the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is seeking public opinion on the CM candidate through a call. In fact, the AAP also had to know the opinion of the people of Punjab before making Bhagwant Mann the CM face.

It is being told that the names that Congress has substituted for its CM face are Charanjit Singh Channi, Navjot Singh Sidhu. Apart from this, the third option is that Congress will enter the electoral fray without a CM candidate. It is being told that Congress has not included names like Sunil Jakhar, Sukhjinder Randhawa among the options. While Recently, Sunil Jakhar had claimed that after the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh, most of the Congress MLAs had voted to make him the Chief Minister. While Sidhu got only 6 votes and Charanjit Channi got only 2 votes.

Rahul Gandhi had said during a virtual rally in Jalandhar that the Congress will go into the Punjab assembly elections with the CM face and a decision on it will be taken soon after consulting the party workers. Rahul's statement came at a time when Sidhu and Channi were presenting their claims.
