All elections held across the country till July 5 have been affected due to the Corona epidemic. Yes, now the by-elections of Jaura assembly in Madhya Pradesh have been postponed in this order. However, this information has been given by the Additional Chief Electoral Officer of the Election Commission, Arun Tomar.

This time the election official said that this decision has been taken due to publicity due to the rising infection of the coronavirus and the difficulties faced by voting in Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) and Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). The by-election in Morena's Jaura assembly seat, which was vacant due to the demise of Banwarilal Sharma of the Congress, will no longer be held within a fixed six-month period. At the same time, no decision has been taken regarding the vacant seat of Agramalwa. According to the information received from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the state, it is not possible for the Election Commission to conduct a by-election according to the current situation.

For your information, let us tell you that all the by-elections to be held across the country by July 5, 2020, will be done after the situation improves. The Jaura seat was vacated on 21 December 2019. And as per election rules, by-elections were to be held for this seat till 20 June 2020. At the same time, Agramalwa seat was vacated on 31 January 2020 due to the death of BJP's Manohar Camel. According to the rules, there should also be a by-election by July 30, 2020, but given the current situation, its date is also likely to go ahead. Apart from these, by-elections will also be held in 22 other seats in the state.
