New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, India has seen 67,084 new cases of the novel coronavirus, with 1,241 deaths as a result of the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday (February 10), the country experienced 1,67,882 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to roughly 96.95 percent and total recoveries to 4,11,80,751.

According to ministry data released today, the overall number of active COVID-19 cases in India has decreased to 7,90,789 (1.86%). The country's total death toll today stands at 5,06,520. The first death from the COVID epidemic was recorded in India in March 2020. Today's daily positivity rate is 4.44 percent.

Up to February 9, 74,61,96,071 samples had been tested for COVID-19, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). On Wednesday, 15,11,321 of these samples were examined.

Meanwhile, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) declared on Wednesday that routine Covid testing before to inpatient hospitalisation and procedures will be discontinued. The hospital's chiefs and heads of departments have been ordered to inform the faculty and resident doctors of this development.
