Shimla: In Himachal Pradesh, an employee of the postal department has hit the common people heavily. The postal assistant posted at Mashobra sub-post office in Shimla embezzled Rs 19 lakh deposited by the people. On the complaint of Shimla Division Senior Postal Superintendent Bali Ram, a case of cheating has been registered by the police. The postal department has suspended the accused after investigation. There may still be many revelations in the case after the arrest of the accused.
The accused is a resident of Shakra village in Karsog, Tehsil of Khemraj District Mandi. According to the postal department, for the past few months, the accused was not sending the details of daily transactions regularly to the GPO office at Shimla, Malrode. Even if the details were not given on the warning, it was investigated at the departmental level. The inspecting authority found that the records and money did not match. The accused has made money from the postal account from here to there.
After getting strong evidence, the department has suspended the accused. After this, a complaint was lodged with the police. However, departmental investigations are still ongoing. Involvement of other employees is also being seen in this. Meanwhile, DSP Headquarters Pramod Shukla said that on the complaint of the Senior Superintendent of Posts, a case has been registered against the postal assistant. The police is investigating the case.
