A CRPF jawan has been arrested for allegedly molesting two women in Kolkata's Chitpur area. The incident occurred when the jawan, returning from election duty in Baruipur, South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, arrived at Kolkata railway station on Sunday night.
According to police, the jawan entered a house near the station on Sunday night and molested two sisters who were sleeping inside. Local residents heard the women's screams, came to their rescue, and apprehended the jawan as he attempted to flee. Police were subsequently informed and officers detained him.
An FIR was filed at Chitpur police station by the two sisters, leading to the jawan's arrest. The CRPF has initiated an inquiry into the allegations, and if found guilty, the jawan will face necessary action.
