Actress Deepika Padukone’s upcoming movie Chhapaak is one of the much awaiting movie of the year. The actress is essaying the role of an acid attack survivor, Deepika flew down to Delhi on the occasion of Holi last month to begin script reading sessions and eventually the cast and crew began filming recently. She shared the first look of the film and it received loads of love from everyone. She will be seen as Malti in the film.

Chappak is being shot in various locations across Delhi and the most recent one was at Janpath. Deepika has undergone a huge transformation to look like Laxmi Aggarwal and the prosthetics make her character look real.

The movie is based on the real-life story of Laxmi Aggarwal, who was attacked at the mere age of 15 back in 2005. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak also stars Mirzapur fame Vikrant Massey. Film is slated to release on January 10, 2020.
