New Delhi: Delhi High Court has cancelled the election of Jitendra Singh Tomar, former Law Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Trinagar assembly constituency. In his election affidavit in 2015, he gave incorrect information about educational qualifications. Let us tell you that there will be a vote on 8 February for the assembly elections in Delhi. For all seats, AAP has announced the names of all its 70 candidates. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded the current MLA Jitendra Singh Tomar from Trinagar seat.

Tomar was facing a fake degree case and due to this he had to resign from the post of legal minister in the Delhi government. Jitendra Singh Tomar contested from Trinagar assembly seat in 2013 and 2015. In 2013, Tomar was defeated by nearly 2800 votes, while in 2015 he won by about 22 thousand votes.

He was made Law Minister in Delhi Government in the year 2015, but in July 2015 he was arrested by Delhi Police in a fake degree case. However, he was granted bail after some time. According to a media report, Tomar called the fake degree case a political conspiracy against him.
