New Delhi: Public interest petition for opening Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh road closed due to protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Delhi High Court. During the hearing, the court asked the police to act according to the law. The High Court said that work should be done according to government rules and law, as well as take care of law and order.

Earlier, the petitioner has said that the government and police have also been given a complaint in this case and nothing happened. On December 15, in Jamia Millia Islamia, the police had lathi-charged students against the CAA. After that, the women of Shaheen Bagh blocked the road in the Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh area. These women have been protesting on the road for the last 1 month. The protesters are protesting against the withdrawal of CAA and the non-implementation of NRC.

In the petition filed in the High Court, it was said that since December 15, the road from Kalindi Kunj to Noida has been closed by protesters, due to which thousands of people face problems every day. In the filing petition, the Delhi Police Commissioner has been directed to withdraw the order to close the Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh strip and Okhla underpass.
