New Delhi: 13 states of the country including the national capital Delhi are facing power crisis. It is being told that due to the scorching heat, the demand for electricity has increased rapidly. Along with this, due to the shortage of coal, power crisis has arisen in many states. At the same time, people are facing problems due to power cuts in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab, Jharkhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan.

In the midst of all this, Delhi's Energy Minister Satyendar Jain has claimed that there are many power plants supplying electricity in Delhi, where only one day's coal is left. He said that due to shortage of railway rakes, there has been a shortage of coal in the capital. In response to the question asked about the power crisis in Delhi, the Energy Minister said that this situation has arisen due to the lack of railway rakes. Normally the power plant should have 21 days stock of coal. But there are some power plants supplying electricity to Delhi, which have only one day's stock of coal.

He has urged the Center to fulfill the coal demand of the state. Jain told that earlier 450 railway rakes used to get coal, now it has come down to 405 rakes. He has said that, through better cooperation from the Center, we can deal with this crisis. Not only this, he also made it clear that there is no payment due from any coal company on behalf of Delhi.
