Delhi violence: Chargesheet filed in the death of head constable Ratanlal, 17 arrested

New Delhi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the crime branch has filed a charge sheet in the Karkardooma court in Delhi in connection with the murder of head constable Ratanlal in the violence that erupted in the country's capital Delhi. The charge sheet is 1100 pages. Police arrested 17 people in the murder of Ratanlal.

The SIT has included CCTV and mobile footage as evidence and testimony of eyewitnesses present on the spot and statements of policemen. The statements of more than 60 witnesses have been recorded in this case. The chargesheet said that on June 22, before the Delhi violence, a group of 40-50 miscreants met in a basement of a house in which the conspiracy for the violence was hatched. Salim Khan, Salim Munna and Shadab were among the five accused in the conspiracy. According to the plan, the surrounding CCTVs were broken before the violence.

The chargesheet states that the rioters came out on the streets advising children and elders to stay at home. The charge sheet stated that the miscreants returned after the uproar on 23 February, but again on 24 February, the miscreants came out on the streets to start a disturbance. Many policemen were injured in this attack, including DCP of Shahdara, Anuj Kamar, ACP of Gokalpuri. The charge sheet states that violent mob also attacked the nearby Mohan Nursing Home. Mohan was a policeman in the nursing home. Head Constable Ratanlal was killed in the same violence.
