The temple administration committee has issued an order in this regard. A time limit has been set for entry into the sanctum sanctorum of the Mahakaleshwar temple. Ordinary devotees have also been given the facility of worship by entering the sanctum sanctorum.
For this, the temple committee has fixed a time from 1 pm to 4 pm. Due to this, devotees can enter the sanctum sanctorum free of cost and in normal costumes. However, the decision to grant admission is taken by the temple committee based on the statistics of devotees at that time. Apart from this, if a devotee wants to enter the sanctum sanctorum in addition to the time of 1 to 4 pm and worship, then he is required to deduct the donation receipt of Rs 1500. From this receipt, two devotees are allowed to perform Jal Abhishek in the sanctum sanctorum in the prescribed dress code. For this, the time is fixed from 6 am to 9 am and 12 noon to 1 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm in the evening. The devotee can take the donation receipt from the counter of the temple committee and go to the sanctum sanctorum through any priest and perform puja. For this, devotees will have to compulsorily follow the prescribed dress code.
According to the same temple administrator Ganeshkumar Dhakad, the dress code, it is mandatory for men to wear dhoti, sola, banyan, and a woman to wear a saree. Due to this, devotees cannot carry socks, leather purses and belts, weapons and phones to the sanctum sanctorum. There is a complete ban on these.
