Disney's hit film 'Jungle Cruise' is getting another sequence! Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt will reprise their roles in the sequel to the adventure film based on the theme park ride. According to Variety, Johnson and Blunt will reprise their roles as pun-obsessed riverboat captain Frank Wolff and courageous explorer Dr. Lily Houghton in a new adventure. Jaume Collet-Serra, the director, is anticipated to return.

The sequel's executive producer Scott Sheldon, as well as producers John Davis, John Fox, Beau Flynn, Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia, all anticipated to return. The sequel will be written by Michael Green, who co-wrote 'Jungle Cruise' with Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. On July 30, 'Jungle Cruise' was released in theatres and on Disney Plus Premier Access for an extra fee of USD 30. The picture managed to stay afloat at the box office, grossing over USD 100 million in its sixth weekend. It has grossed USD 187 million at the global box office.

The film is based on the iconic Disneyland attraction, which was one of the initial attractions when the theme park debuted in 1955. It was in production for more than 15 years before eventually finding its way to the big screen. Dr. Lily Houghton (Blunt) goes down the Amazon in quest of a strong old tree with the aid of a captain called Frank Wolff in 'Jungle Cruise' (Johnson).
