A team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Thursday left the house of Bineesh Kodiyeri, son of CPI-(M) Kerala Unit Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, after a 26-hour-long search operation in connection with money laundering related to the drug case in Bengaluru.  However, the raid courted controversy and concluded with dramatic events following the Bineesh's wife refusing to sign the 'mahasar' related to a credit card allegedly recovered from the house.

Bineesh's wife Rineeta raised suspicion that the credit card, having the name of Anoop Mohammed (another accused in the drug case) was brought here by the of Enforcement Directorate. Meanwhile, the relatives of Bineesh Kodiyeri also staged a sit-in protest in front of the house alleging that his wife and child were under house arrest.  The Child Rights Commission (CRC) instantly reached the spot and inquired into the incident.

Soon after the incident, Poojappura Police rushed to the spot and blocked the vehicle of the ED officials while leaving the house, alleging that a complaint on human rights violation was lodged against the ED officials. Later, the Kerala Police allowed the ED officials to leave the spot after collecting their names.
