Bhopal: In the election year, the Madhya Pradesh government is going to give a big gift to its employees. The government is preparing to increase the duty allowance (DA) of the officers and employees of the state by 4 percent. This increased DA can be given to the employees in the month of May. About seven and a half lakh officers and employees of the state will benefit from the increase in DA. The DA of the employees was increased to 38 percent in the state only one and a half to two months ago. Thus, it went from 34 percent to 38 percent. whereas the DA of central employees is 42 percent. Therefore, in the month of May, the government can increase the DA of the employees by 4 percent. With this, the DA of state employees will also be equal to that of central employees.

Let us tell you, the DA of the employees in Madhya Pradesh has been equal to that of the central employees. Before the year 2018, there was a rule in the state that as much DA was given to the central employees, the same DA would be received by the state employees. As soon as the DA of the central employees was increased, similarly, the DA of the employees in the state was also increased and implemented. After the year 2018, this order of increase in DA was broken. At that time, the new Kamal Nath government was formed in the state. Due to his policies, there was a slight change in the DM rules. But now, once again, the employees of Madhya Pradesh are going to get DA equal to that of the central employees.

This step by the state government will benefit seven and a half lakh officers and employees. The number of regular government employees in the state is 6 lakh, or 40 thousand. Similarly, the figure of work charge and daily wage earners is 1 lakh 10 thousand. All of them will benefit from this decision by the government. The state government increased the dearness allowance from 34 percent to 38 percent for the employees taking the seventh pay scale in January 2023. The allowances of the sixth-pay scale employees were increased by 9 percent. All these employees are currently getting Dearness Allowance at a rate of 212 percent. A decision has also been taken in the cabinet to increase the dearness relief of pensioners, but they are getting dearness relief at the rate of 33 percent only from October 2022.
