New Delhi: We know many risks of corona infection, but scientists' research is exposing many new risks. According to a research report published in the prestigious journal Nature, the corona is also affecting the brain. It has been found that this can lead to mild seizures from the brain (a disease related to memory loss) and brain efforts from obstruction of blood circulation.

The report quoted Yale University neurologist Serin Spudich as saying that 80 percent of people recovering from severe corona infections showed symptoms of brain diseases. These have mainly shown signs of memory loss and mild seizures. While in many cases it has been found that blood circulation to brain cells is not taking place properly due to infection. This can also eventually lead to death or seizures. A reduction in a grey material from the cerebral cortex has been found in the brain examination report of patients.

According to a study by the University of California, the coronavirus is also damaging the astrocytes cells of the brain. These cells do many things and broadly their function is to keep the functioning of the brain smooth. The report mentions a Brazilian study that examined the brain of 26 people who died of corona contraction. Out of these, 5 were found to have brain infections. It has been found that 66 percent of these people's astrocyte cells had been infected.
