Karnataka: Former Karnataka chief minister and senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa condemned the "drug peddler" and "drug addict" remarks made by state BJP state president against Rahul Gandhi mentioning that “no one should speak so disrespectfully.”

Speaking at  a by-election campaign in Sindagi of Vijayapura district, the former CM said  the "statement made by Bharatiya Janata party state president related to Rahul Gandhi is incorrect, no one should speak disrespectfully."

Further, slamming Congress leader HD Kumaraswamy and Siddaramaiah for criticising RSS during the election campaign, Yediyurappa said: "Kumaraswamy and Siddaramaiah are needlessly dragging the RSS name into the election campaign but they will gain nothing by bringing RSS name, people will give them a right answer in the bypolls."

Meanwhile, Yediyurappa received a grand welcome from BJP fans at Moratagi and Golageri villages. It was his first visit to Vijayapura district after stepping down as Chief Minister in July.
