NEW DELHI: Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez is expected to join the investigation on Wednesday, September 14, in connection with the 200 crore extortion cum cheating case involving multi-millionaire conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is being investigated by the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police.

The Economic Offences Wing had earlier postponed her questioning on her request and had fixed the matter for today. Pinky Irani, an associate of Fernandez has also been called on to join the investigation and both are expected to be grilled together.

According to sources within the unit, a long list of questions will be put to the actress.

The source said, "We may confront Irani and Fernandez and ask her about her relationship with Chandrashekar and the gifts and money she received from the conman."

There is a chance that the interrogation will last for two or three days. The top brass officers have prepared the inquiries that will be made of Irani and Fernandez in order to expose Chandrashekhar's lying.

The testimony of another Bollywood actress, Nora Fatehi, in the case had already been recorded by the EOW officers earlier in the first week of September.

Chandrashekhar was detained for allegedly defrauding and extorting money from a number of high-profile people, including Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh. The Enforcement Directorate has questioned numerous Bollywood actors and models on their suspected connections to Chandrashekhar.

He was detained in April of last year in connection with a separate money laundering investigation involving the 2017 Election Commission bribery case, which is said to have included a former AIADMK leader among others.
