The Mexican government has lodged a complaint on the new collection of luxury fashion label Carolina Herrera, inspired by different Latin and American holidays. The matter has been considerably reduced for the time being. The brand's creative director has also been accused of plagiarism and cultural appropriation.

EFE News reported, the charges were labeled Carolina Herrera Resort's collection of 2020, "sunrise in Tulum, light of Lima, jogging in the city of Mexico... And "The colors of Cartagena" are engaged. As per the information, a letter sent Wednesday to the American-Venezuelan fashion house and its Christian director Wes Gordon also raised the demand for "explanations for the design and use of embroidery by the natives here" by Mexican culture Secretary Alejandra Frausto.

Frausto, while supporting the "Cultural rights of the natives," asked the company and Gordon to clarify "on what basis they have decided to use the cultural elements whose origins are fully contracted." As well as a design of controversial dresses, there is a long white dress with colourful embroidery of animals and flowers. Frausto, on the other hand, wrote in his letter that the design belonged to the Tianingo de Doreya, the central state of Hidalgo, which serves to convey the history of the community there.
