Noida: Two individuals lost their lives and several others sustained injuries when a ceiling grille collapsed in the lobby of a mall in Greater Noida today. The tragic incident occurred at the Blue Sapphire Mall, causing panic among shoppers.
The deceased victims, identified as Harendra Bhati and Shakeel, both aged 35 and residents of Ghaziabad, were fatally struck by the falling ceiling grille. The sudden collapse led to chaos in the mall premises.
Senior police officers and personnel rushed to the scene to assess the situation. The bodies of the victims have been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
According to Additional DCP Hridesh Kathariya, the iron grille fell from the fifth floor of the mall, tragically claiming the lives of Bhati and Shakeel as they were heading towards the escalator. An investigation into the incident is currently underway to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic accident.
