Gadkari dedicates Maharashtra's first Divyang Park in Nagpur

New Delhi: Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, on Monday, February 20 laid the foundation stone of the world’s largest and unique Divyang Park - Anubhuti Inclusive Park in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

Addressing at the event, the minister stated that this park is being created with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aim of creating an inclusive society in mind. He claimed that this park would demonstrate empathy rather than compassion, which is why it was given the name Anubhuti Divyang Park.

The Union Minister said through this park the message of inclusion will reach not only in the country but also the whole world.

The minister said the park will have facilities for all 21 kinds of disabilities, such as touch and smell garden, hydrotherapy unit, water therapy, independent room for mentally challenged children, mother. The minister said Nagpur is one of the fastest-growing cities of the country. In 2016, the central government passed the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. He said this law is to give the disabled the right to live with dignity.

The "Anubhuti Inclusive Park" is being set up for challenged children and regular residents at Nagpur's Pardi campus, he continued. "Taking initiative under this, the central government has created various Divyang Parks in South India and Madhya Pradesh.

The Minister said this is the world's first inclusive disabled park, with a provision of about Rs. 12.00 crore has been made by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The parks being built in an area of 90,000 square feet. He said here, various projects have been conceptualized for the disabled as well as for the general public and senior citizens.
