The American business magazine Forbes recently rolled out a list of highest earning actors in 2018. The Ocean’s Eleven star George Clooney topped the list beating the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Robert Downey Jr, and Chris Hemsworth.

The actor claimed the top spot despite not starring in a hit movie in the duration of a year. The annual ranking tallies on-screen and off-screen earnings in which Clooney took in $239 million in pretax earnings.

According to Forbes, Clooney sold his Casamigos Tequila company to British liquor giant Diageo last June for $700 million upfront with a potential to earn $300 million in the next decade. Clooney, who founded the company in 2013 with Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, took home $233 million.

Trailing behind at no. 2 is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who earned $124 million pretax, Robert Downey Jr at no. 3 with $81 million, Chris Hemsworth lies at no. 4 with $64.5 million followed by Jackie Chan at no. 5 who earned $45.5 million by starring in six movies throughout 2017.
