Dehradun: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, presented India's General Budget for the year 2022-23. Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat has termed it disappointing. At the same time, he has said that the central government has presented this budget in view of the upcoming elections in 4 states. This Budget is totally disappointing.

The same former Congress president Rahul Gandhi raised questions on the budget. Tmc leader Derek O'Brien also tweeted about it. In which he said, diamonds are his most special friends in this government. Others, including farmers, middle class, daily wage earners and those who are unemployed. For them, the Prime Minister's care, while the middle class trended on social media and there was a flood of memes. In which people said that people had hoped that there would be some change in the income tax slab, which did not happen. Overall, most of the people said that there was nothing in Nirmala Sitharaman's budget for the middle class.

Expressing grief over the same budget, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, "This budget is zero for the common people who are being crushed by inflation. The government is lost in big words, which makes no sense.'' At the same time, Home Minister Amit Shah praised the budget and said, "This budget is a visionary budget, which will prove to be a changer in the scale of India's economy. This budget will lay the foundation for a new India of the 100th year of independence along with making India self-reliant.''
