Chandigarh: Two people were killed and two others were injured in firing by attackers in Ambala city of Haryana on Thursday. According to the police, the incident may be the result of mutual enmity between the two groups. Police sources said that the dead have been identified as Rahul (34) and Pankaj alias Panja (28).

He said that one of the injured Gaurav has been referred to PGIMER Chandigarh due to a critical situation, while the other injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital here. Police sources said the four men had come to Ambala from a village located near Mohali in Punjab for the work of a court case and were returning to their homes in a car at the time of the incident. He said that when these men reached Kalka Chowk on the Ambala-Rajpura highway, other miscreants in a car opened fire on them and fled.

After receiving information about the incident, Ambala Range Inspector General of Police Y.P. High police officers including Kumar and Superintendent of Police Hamid Akhtar rushed to the scene and also went to the civil hospital. Akhtar said that the matter is being investigated. Meanwhile, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sultan Singh said that police teams have been formed to trace the attackers and CCTV footage near Kalka Chowk is being investigated.
