Chandigarh: In the Fatehabad district of Haryana, the villagers undressed four people in the suspicion of cow smuggling charge. The video of the four being beaten up has also surfaced online. It is also alleged that the villagers have also been urinating. Those who have been injured in the beating say that they carry out the work of lifting the dead animals and take off their skins.

The Dalit rights Forum, in this case, has alleged that Dalits who were pelted by dead animals were deliberately beaten up.  The Dalit rights Forum has demanded stern action against the accused. The case is being reported to be the Daiid village of Fathaaba. According to local police, the villagers had reported on the phone to the police that four people had been caught by the cow skins and that they were doing cow smuggling.

According to the police, four persons have been beaten up on suspicion of cow smuggling and the four have had minor wounds. Police have registered FIR against the four persons apprehended in the case. They have been admitted to the civil hospital for treatment. Police have delivered the bodies of the dead cow and calf recovered from the scene for postmortem. The case has been booked under the Cow Defence Act.
