Today, former Indian women's cricket team captain Anjum Chopra is celebrating her 45th birthday. She was born on May 20, 1977, in Delhi. She has become a well-known name in the cricketing world. Left-handed opener Anjum played 12 Tests, 127 ODIs and 18 T20  Internationals for India, in which she scored 548, 2856 and 241 runs respectively. She scored one century and 18 half-centuries in ODIs.  

Debuted at the age of 17: Anjum made her international debut by playing ODIs at the age of 17. She played his first match against New Zealand in February 1995. After which he started her Test career against England in number in the same year. in the year 2002, Anjum was made the captain of the Indian team. Under her leadership, the team won the Test series in South Africa for the first time. At the same time, Anjum stepped into the T20 International against England in August 2006.  

Anjum did this unique feat: Anjum has also got to see such a unique feat in her career, which is always going to be recorded in the history of cricket. She is the first Indian woman cricketer to play 100 ODIs. She played four World Cups for India. She was compared to former England opener David Gaver. Gaver was known for her artistry in batting and scoring beautiful shots.

Cricketer turned successful commentator: Anjum Chopra played her last international match in March 2021. She has been playing a successful inning as a commentator after her retirement from cricket. She has been seen shouldering this responsibility on many big occasions. It is worth mentioning that Anjum has also been honoured with the Arjuna Award and the Padma Shri Award. She was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2007 and the Padma Shri in 2014.
