Chandigarh: The dismissal of a cop by the SSP cost dearly to all Punjab Police officers due to the FIR filed in the country's state of Punjab. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has demanded a list of all the officers of the Punjab Police against whom an FIR is filed.

Simultaneously, Punjab Police sacked Surjit Singh, while filing a petition in the High Court, said that an FIR was filed on him. After the FIR was filed, the Inspector General of Police issued orders to keep him in service. The SSP, ignoring that order, issued instructions to dismiss him. The petitioner said that being sacked just because of pending criminal case is not justice with him.

Further, the petitioner said that there are many officers of Punjab Police, on whom FIRs are filed, even after this they are posted on duty. In such a situation, it is not appropriate to differentiate between officers and soldiers of Punjab Police. The High Court issued notice to the Punjab government on the petition and sought an answer. At the same time, the court said that the argument of the petitioner has merit, in such a case, the Punjab Government should tell on the next hearing how many officers of the Punjab Police have filed the FIR, the officers on whom the FIR is filed, and also the post. Where are he posted? With this, now it is to see what is the answer given by the officials.
