Bangalore: During an argument with the officials of Dayananda Sathisha Pai Government College in Mangaluru, Karnataka, B.Com third year student Kavana Kumari Shetty has accused seven hijab-clad girl students of threatening her. Shetty has filed her complaint, a day after a Muslim student lodged a complaint against at least 15 ABVP activists (students).

In this, the complaining student was verbally abused and even called a 'terrorist'. Also, abusive language was used against his religion. On March 3, the college authorities refused to allow hijab-wearing girls to appear in the internal examination on the basis of an interim order of the Karnataka High Court and asked them to leave the college premises. Shetty said in her complaint that the same girl students returned the next day in the afternoon and created a crowd near the college gate.

According to the FIR, 'He was abused while leaving the college. At the same time, the police is refraining from making any kind of comment in this matter. Meanwhile, colleges in many parts of Karnataka are holding special classes to make up for the time lost due to the hijab controversy. A second year pre-university student at MGM College, urging anonymity, said, 'The college is conducting special classes so that we can complete the course before the preliminary examination.' Preliminary examinations after March 20. will begin.
