Kochi: The Kerala High Court denied accused Malayalam actor Dileep's request to halt further investigation into the 2017 incident.
The court ordered the investigation team to complete its work by April 15.Dileep alleged in his plea, "Further investigation was a deliberate attempt to delay the trial in that case. Under the guise of the additional investigation, the police were carrying out a series of vindictive acts. Further investigation was not permitted because a final report had been filed in November 2017, charges had been filed in January 2020, and only one prosecution witness remained to be interviewed."
Dileep is the eighth person to be charged in the 2017 Actress Assault Case. On the night of February 17, 2017, an actress who worked in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu films was allegedly abducted and molested inside her car by a group of men who forced their way inside.
