In Chennai 22-year-old boy kills mentally ill mother, later commits suicide

Chennai: A 22-year-old man, who was looking after his mentally ill 52 year old mother allegedly squeezed  her life out before committing suicide at their house on Saturday.

N Vigneshwaran a resident of T Nagar.He was working as a food delivery man and staying with his mother Sundaravalli. She is mentally ill, at the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board building in T Nagar.

On Saturday at around 10:30,  Vigneshwaran's friend Arun Kumar ran out of the house asking for help. According to one of the first eyewitnesses, When  he entered the home,  he saw the mother lying on the floor and Vigneshwaran hanging from the ceiling,.

 A probing officer later stated "Doctors told us that Sundaravalli was strangled and minutes later the son hung himself." Teynampet police found the bodies and sent them to the government hospital for postmortem.

A letter was also found by the police from the crime spot. The suicide note, written by Vigneshwaran read: "Everyone should grow a tree. Everyone should follow unity. I am not even happy on some days but no one is responsible for my death."

Before committing suicide He also sent a message to his friends asserting: "Will tell you a good news tomorrow." The same evening, Vigneshwaran apparently sent Rs 6,500 to his colleague through Google Pay to pay for his last rites. On enquiring what the money was for, Vigneshwaran answered his friend, "An incident will take place in my home tomorrow. You will know what the money is for."
