Aurangabad: In Maharashtra's Aurangabad, a lover in unrequited love doused himself with petrol and set himself on fire, and hugged a girl student. Both have been admitted to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada Medical College in critical condition. Where the condition of both remains critical. According to the received news, the girl is doing a Ph.D. in the Zoology Department of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. At the time of the incident, the victim was preparing her project while sitting in the cabin of the Biophysics department head of the college. A student doing a Ph.D. in the same college came and said to the girl that 'You are not marrying me', by saying this he poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire and then hugged the girl. Due to this both got seriously burnt.
Both were taken to the government hospital by those present on the spot. It is being said that the girl suffered 40 to 50 percent burns and the boy 90 percent. The girl's family lodged a complaint late at night at the Begumpura police station in Aurangabad. In which the police have registered a case under sections 307, 326A, 354D, 506, and 34 IPC, and the police have started investigating the matter seriously. Police Inspector Prashant Potdar said that Gajanan Munde first set himself on fire and then caught the woman, due to which she also got burnt. He said that both are Ph.D. students in the Zoology Department of the university and the girl student has been posted at Forensic Science College for her project.
