Hyderabad: A high-level meeting was held on Thursday on TSRTC at Pragati Bhavan. In future, travelling by buses within Telangana will be expensive. Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has indicated an increase in bus fares. The chief minister said that the chief minister k. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) informed about the current situation of RTC. Officials said that the corporation was constantly suffering losses due to the huge increase in diesel rate, lockdown due to corona and loan dues in the past years and it was difficult to run buses to TSRTC.

The situation is improving now than ever, but the transport company is still in significant losses, officials said. If the salary of RTC employees increases, the financial burden on the corporation will increase. In this situation, the financial burden on the RTC can be reduced only by increasing the bus fares, not only by providing heavy assistance from the government.
