Jabalpur: In the case of rape and SC-ST Act, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered the removal of Umesh Joga, ADG Police Jabalpur Zone and SP and Civil Surgeon of Chhindwara district from their posts and posted so far. From where the three officers could not influence the case. The culprit of this case is police constable Ajay Sahu, who is a resident of Jabalpur and was posted in Chhindwara. On November 13, 2021, Ajay Sahu was arrested in Ajak police station of Chhindwara in the case of rape and registered under SC ST Act.
The bail application was presented in a single bench of Justice Vivek Agrawal which was rejected. Along with this, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has expressed displeasure towards the SP and Civil Surgeon of ADG Police Jabalpur and Chhindwara. Jabalpur Zone Additional DGP Umesh Joga submitted the report in the High Court on 20 April. The High Court found that Civil Surgeon Shikhar Surana had provided wrong information to the High Court.
The High Court observed that the ADGP had signed the report without considering it even though the statement of the staff nurse was not recorded in it. At the same time, the High Court said that the criminal is a policeman, so it cannot be denied that the higher authorities are trying to save him. The High Court said that the character of ADGP Jabalpur, SP Chhindwara, Civil Surgeon etc. is suspicious. The case was to be handed over to the CBI to probe their conduct. Since now the concerned officers have played their role. The sample cannot be re-examined, so all the officers concerned should be shifted to remote areas of the state so that they cannot influence the witnesses. The High Court ordered the Vigilance and Monitoring Committee.
