Country registers lowest corona case after 75 days, recovery rate increased

New Delhi: The country has registered 60,471 new cases of covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, the lowest in 75 days. Today, for the eighth consecutive day, less than 1 lakh new cases have been registered. According to the Union Health Ministry, 2,726 people have died across the country in the last 24 hours. On Monday, 1,17,525 people recovered from the infection. The recovery rate for those recovering from covid infection in the country has increased to 95.64 percent.

The number of active cases has now come down to 9,13,378, up from 3.30 percent of the total cases. The total number of infection cases in the country has gone up to 295,70,881 since new cases came to light. More than 2.82 crore people have recovered. According to data from the Union Health Ministry, 3,77,031 people have died in the country since Covid-19, which is 1.27 per cent of the total cases.

The positivity rate in the country is also steadily declining. The Health Ministry said the weekly positivity rate in the country has come down to 4.39 per cent. The transition rate in new cases today was 3.45 per cent. This is the eighth consecutive day that the positivity rate has been recorded below 5 per cent. 17.51 lakh samples were tested across the country on Wednesday. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), more than 38.13 crore samples have been tested in the country so far.
