Sweden: The eighth annual India-Sweden Innovation Day 2021 was a success. The one-day virtual event was hosted by the Indian Embassy in Sweden and Latvia, as well as the Sweden-India Business Council (SIBC) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The seminar was a huge success, with over 1,300 people from all over the world attending.

The implementation of the partnership between Vinnova, Sweden's Innovation Agency, the Indian Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Biotechnology was the event's main highlight.

The stakeholders from both countries agreed to issue a call for proposals that would cover important aspects of the circular economy, such as health, social issues, and societal challenges, all of which are critical to the development of a circular economy. The seminar also issued a new call to action, bringing together key players in Indo-Swedish cooperation.

This joint call was aimed at bringing together Swedish and Indian actors to work on joint research and development projects. The actors came together to support full value-chain research and innovation projects by joining hands. Tanmaya Lal, India's Ambassador to Sweden, Ms. Darja Isaksson, Vinnova's Director-General, Dr. Jitendra Singh, India's Minister for Science and Technology, Ibrahim Baylan, Sweden's Minister for Enterprise and Innovation, and Klas Molin, Sweden's Ambassador to India, were among the keynote speakers at the inauguration.
