Naseeruddin Shah was a close friend of Irfan's. In a recent interview, Naseer claimed that the most unique aspect about Irfan was that he knew two years before to his death that he would not be able to live for long. On the phone, I chatted with him multiple times. I even had a talk with Irfan while he was in London for treatment. For Irfan, it was a unique experience. They were attempting to comprehend death in its entirety. Yamaraj appeared to be approaching them, and they greeted him warmly. After all, what did we have in our hands? Death is beyond anyone's control.

"I don't think it's a healthy experience to ponder too much about dying," Naseer continued. All of my family members and friends have died. For me, the deaths of my friends Om Puri and Farooq Sheikh came as a shock. Death, in my opinion, is the most useless thing for anyone to consider and something we should avoid. That is something I will not do. I'll depart when it's time for me to leave. But I want to live as long as I am living.
