James Cameron's hailed Indian films for the elements of family, friendship, personal duty

James Cameron is one of the most renowned filmmakers in the world. He has made some big blockbusters film in his career span and won various awards for his films. In a recent interview, the Hollywood director was asked about similarities between his films and those that are made in India.

In a recent interview James Cameron opens up about the only difference between Indian films and his film is  “a song and dance number at the end”. He further hailed SS Rajamouli at the Critics’ Choice Awards, and said, "How much I enjoyed the physical production, the beauty and spectacle that he had created in his film, but also the tension, the action and all the things that I like.

He further showering his love on the film said, “That film made me think about the Indian film industry at large and how much I enjoy Indian films for those reasons – whether it is the emphasis on family, friendship, personal duty towards the people around you and all those things." He said that he had not watched Indian films before that.  He further opens up about why Titanic did not have a strong release in India “because India was making so many of their own movies that you weren’t that interested in our films”.

James Cameron’s Avatar becomes a major hit in India. Speaking of Avatar, "Avatar" is followed a paraplegic marine Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), who becomes an unlikely champion for the Na'vi, the 10-foot-tall and blue-skinned, sapient humanoids, in their fight for survival. The film featured Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver. Avengers: End Game released in 2019 had garnered collections of about ₹53.10 crore on the first day of its release, and Spider-Man: No Way Home collected ₹32.67 crores at the box office on its first day of release in 2021. Meanwhile, Avengers: Infinity War, released in 2018, earned ₹31.30 crores on the first day of its release.
