JAMMU Govt Suspends Empanelment of 13 Hospitals For Fraud In AB-PMJAY

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir state health agency has suspended the empanelment of 13 hospitals and slapped heavy penalties on 17 others for their involvement in fraud while implementing the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).

Officials said more than Rs 1.77 crore have been slapped as a penalty on the hospitals involved in fraudulent activities in 2022 out of which more than Rs 1.34 crore have been recovered so far by the J&K state health agency.  

Official sources state that the following hospitals have been subject to the action: Ess Bee Hospital, empanelment suspended; Waseem Memorial Hospital, empanelment suspended; Quality Care Hospital, Rs. 6.64 lakh penalty imposed; Narayana Hospital, Rs. 54.62 lakh penalty imposed. Ibn Sina Hospital has also had its empanelment suspended.
In addition, fines of Rs. 5 lakh each were levied on Florence Hospital in Chanapora (Srinagar), Rs. 22 lakh upon Shadab Hospital, Rs. 6 lakh upon Mohammadiya Hospital, and Rs. 18.72 lakh against the Kidney Hospital in Sonwar (Srinagar). In February of last year, this hospital also had its empanelment suspended.
Al-Noor Hospital, Midcity Hospital, and South City Nursing Home had their empanelment suspended in September of last year. KD Eye Clinic Hospital was fined Rs. 1 lakh and had its empanelment suspended. ASCOMS in Jammu was fined Rs. 2.66 lakh.

In December of last year, the Center for Eye Care Hospital was fined Rs. 1.64 and had its empanelment suspended. Noora Hospital in Srinagar received a fine of Rs. 5.54 lakh; Baba Nayak Hospital received a fine of Rs. 69,000; Raksha Kidney Hospital received a fine of Rs. 20 lakh; and National Hospital Jammu had its empanelment terminated.
