Governor of The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha has hinted this. He said on Friday that the government will soon take a decision on organizing the annual Amarnath Pilgrimage.

Manoj Sinha, however, clarified that it will not be decided unless the safety of the people is fully reviewed. He said saving lives is the top priority of the government. It may be recalled that the 56-day visit to lord Shiva's cave at an altitude of 3880 metres in the higher reaches of the Himalayas is scheduled to begin on June 28 through Pahalgam and Baltal routes. The trip will conclude on August 22.

Asked if there would be an Amarnath Pilgrimage this year, Sinha said, "I have already said that it is more important to save lives. Keeping in view the Covid epidemic, we will decide on it soon. When asked by when a decision would be taken, he said maybe by tomorrow". Let us tell you that the pilgrimage was cancelled in 2020 due to an epidemic.
