Noida: A teenager, who went missing from Greater Noida, was found dead. The police detained the deceased's two friends for allegedly being involved in the murder. The police caught two of his friends, including a juvenile, after a gunfight. The teenager, the son of a businessman went missing for seven days before he was found dead.

The family members of the deceased vehemently protested at the police station, accusing the authorities of negligence. Subsequently, the police apprehended two individuals believed to be associated with the crime after a confrontation.

According to reports, Vaibhav Singhal, the son of a local businessman from Bilaspur, Greater Noida, was reported missing on January 29. Despite the family's pleas for assistance, the police were unable to locate Vaibhav even after nearly a week. However, surveillance on Vaibhav's mobile phone led to the identification of two suspects.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police for Greater Noida, Ashok Kumar, stated that police officers observed two individuals traveling from Dhanauri towards Sakka. Upon attempting to stop them, both suspects fled into nearby fields, prompting a pursuit. A confrontation ensued, during which the suspects fired at the police, resulting in one of them, identified as 19-year-old Maaj Pathan, sustaining injuries from police gunfire. The other suspect, a minor, was apprehended by the authorities. Vaibhav's mobile phone was recovered from their possession, along with a pistol and a cartridge. During questioning, both suspects confessed to Vaibhav's murder.

The investigation revealed that Vaibhav and Maaj Pathan had been embroiled in a longstanding dispute over a girl. The presence of Maaj Pathan's girlfriend's photo on Vaibhav's phone exacerbated tensions between the two. Despite Maaj's demands for its deletion, Vaibhav refused, further intensifying the animosity. Subsequently, Maaj Pathan, accompanied by his juvenile accomplice, lured Vaibhav under false pretenses before perpetrating the heinous crime and disposing of the body in the canal.
