Ranchi: In the second phase of the Jharkhand assembly elections, the police conducted peaceful polling, but on the very next day, that is, today, the Maoists blasted the Tamad adjacent to the capital Ranchi. While returning to it, the policemen could not escape from the Naxalites and 2 soldiers of the CRPF Cobra Battalion were badly injured in the IED blast. They have been admitted to the Medica Hospital in Ranchi for treatment. The injured soldiers are named Prannoy Das and Jignesh Chaudhary.

ADG Operation Murari Lal Meena and CRPF IG Sanjay Anand Lathar reached the Medica Hospital to know the condition of the injured soldiers. CRPF personnel engaged in the security of assembly elections succumbed to the IED blast of Naxalites in the Payakuli forest in Tamad, where the Naxalites had already laid the IED. The Cobra battalion's soldiers got there and got a huge blast as soon as the soldiers were injured.

Both the injured soldiers belong to the 203 battalions of COBRA. In one of the explosions in the Peyakuli jungle of the mountain between Vijayagiri and Arahanga in Tamad, one soldier has suffered injuries in one leg and the other in the head. Apart from the Superintendent of Police (Rural), the SDPO and other senior officers of Bundu have reached the spot.
