We can't get our minds around Joaquin Phoenix's new hairstyle. The actor, 46, came at the New York Film Festival on Tuesday with his hair cut short in the centre and long and grey on the sides. Phoenix covered his uneven hair with a black beanie during a Q&A for his next film "C'mon C'mon," but he revealed it when walking the red carpet in an Animal Liberation Front hooded sweatshirt.

However, Johnny (Phoenix), a radio journalist, goes on a cross-country adventure with his little nephew in the black-and-white film (Woody Norman). Gaby Hoffmann plays Johnny's sister, Viv, in the film, which will be released on November 19. Surprisingly, another film is to responsible for the strange buzzcut. Phoenix shaved his head for his role in "Disappointment Blvd." and has allegedly let it grow out at various lengths.

Phoenix plays “one of the most successful business people of all time,” according to IMDB, despite the fact that little information about the Ari Aster-directed picture is known at this moment. The project includes Patti LuPone, Michael Gandolfini, Parker Posey, Nathan Lane, and Michael Gandolfini.

Meanwhile, Phoenix is notorious for going to extremes for roles in movies like "The Joker," for which he lost 52 pounds. “I love learning, I love research, I love reading books... but there's something about truly feeling something that nothing else comes close to,” he told Extra at the time.
