Hardik Pandya has shown incredible resolve to emerge as the standout player in the IPL for Mumbai Indians (MI). He mesmerized the audience as he showed an exceptional array of shots for MI while emerging as an incredible finisher for his side. His innings of 91 runs off just 34 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders was a testament of his talent. In 16 matches of the IPL, Hardik scored 402 runs at a strike rate of almost 200 and took 14 wickets. Mumbai Indians’ former fielding coach Jonty Rhodes has credited his 'enormous hunger' for the game as the reason behind his exceptional performance in the IPL.

Sachin Tendulkar picks his 'surprise package' for ICC World Cup 2019

He said, "He is a player with enormous hunger. I remember when his brother Krunal burst into the scene, Hardik got dropped. I told him that this was going to be his biggest test. It's not about bowling a superb bouncer or hitting sixes to finish off games.

Deccan Herald quoted Rhodes saying, “I told him 'if you can bounce back after your brother has taken your place in the side, especially since you are seen as the rockstar of Mumbai Indians, then nothing like it.' He handled the phase really well.”
