Dehradun: An official stated on Saturday that the relocation and rehabilitation plan for those impacted in Joshimath, which has been severely affected by subsidence, is being prepared with the interests of all parties in mind.

Himanshu Khurana, the Chamoli District Magistrate, stated that the stakeholders want to be paid in various ways after seeing the afflicted families who were residing in relief camps in Joshimath on Friday night.

Some people want monetary restitution, some have land on which they want to put up houses, and some want to be moved to a different part of Joshimath, the man stated.

The DM stated that the conditions in the relief camps are "excellent," but added that "we have to keep all this in mind while preparing a resettlement or rehabilitation package so that it is in everyone's interest and is sustainable." I had tea there and spoke with folks," Mr. Khurana remarked. The setup is excellent, and they are receiving excellent cuisine.

According to the Chamoli district disaster management authority, the evacuation of the affected persons is still ongoing, with 185 families having already been relocated to relief facilities.
