NEW DELHI: Newly designated Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today, May 26, met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi at 10, Janpath in NewDelhi and is expected to mull over cabinet expansion in Karnataka with Congress high command.

Siddaramaiah met Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress, on Thursday in the nation's capital. State Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan and MLA Byrathi accompanied the CM

Siddaramaiah, the chief minister of Karnataka, reached Delhi on May 25 to speak with party leaders about expanding the Cabinet. Regarding negotiations surrounding cabinet expansion, Deputy Chief Minister and head of the KPCC D.K. Shivakumar said that the Chief Minister and AICC would be informed.

As per reports, the Karnataka Cabinet is expected to add another 20 ministers, and before it is decided, there would be another round of deliberations.

Following the Congress party's resounding victory in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, the state's chief minister, was SELECTEDunanimously as the CLP leader on May 18 after days of discussion.

On May 20, Siddaramaiah took the oath of office as chief minister and D.K. Shivakumar as his deputy. In the 224-member Karnataka Assembly elections on May 10, the Congress won 135 seats, upsetting the governing BJP, which won 66 seats from its lone southern state.
