Bangalore: An FIR was lodged against unidentified miscreants who vandalised idols at a temple in Arasikere in Hassan district of Karnataka on Monday (May 30, 2022). All these statues were in the process under construction, which were being made for exhibition. According to police, the incident took place at the exhibition centre of Malekallu Tirupathi Hill. Since then, a situation of tension has arisen here.

Although it is not yet known who broke the idols, the police have got many important clues in the matter.  Police said that we have registered an FIR against the unidentified miscreants. According to him, at least four miscreants together broke the idols in the temple bhai, which was to be installed in a few days. According to reports, this 300-year-old holy place is famous by the name of 'Mini Tirupati' temple. This temple is located two km away from the town of Arasikere atop a hill. The local residents here go to this temple to worship the Lord.

The police also said that miscreants who came to the temple premises on Monday first took a bath in Kalyani (the holy water body of the temple). After that, they smoked there even after the objection and drove away the workers working in the premises by threatening them. Later, they went to the exhibition centre and demolished those statues. The miscreants had used rods and other weapons to break the idols. Considering the sensitivity of the case, Hassan district SP R Srinivasa Gowda and senior district officials rushed to the spot. Dog squads and fingerprint experts have collected evidence against the miscreants. Police say that we are investigating the case thoroughly.
