Bangalore: Six miscreants from the minority community stabbed a flower vendor in Karnataka's Shivamogga district on Thursday (April 7, 2022). The head of the crowd of 6 people is said to be Tauseef. In this case, the police have arrested four accused. According to reports, the case is of New Mandali mohalla of Shivamogga. 22-year-old Madhu, a resident of the locality, was returning home after giving flowers to a businessman in the flower market. During this time, the miscreants stopped him and hit him badly. He was stabbed during the assault.
It is said that a few months ago, Madhu had objected to Tauseef and his associates drinking 'ganja' in a public place. Madhu had also complained against it. Superintendent of Police Laxmi Prasad said that angry With this, Tauseef and the gang attacked Madhu with a sharp weapon in broad daylight on the streets of Shivamogga on Thursday. Madhu is suffering from kidney disease and had undergone an operation a few weeks ago. Tauseef and his associates stabbed him at the scene of the operation. During the attack, Madhu somehow reached the local hospital on his bike. He was later admitted to McGain Hospital.
Journalist Chiru Bhat has said that the attackers were in possession of weapons like swords and had also chased Madhu, who was on the run, for some distance. After the incident was reported, several Hindu organisations and activists rushed to the hospital to meet Madhu. He alleged that Madhu has been attacked because of her religion. They demanded strict action against Tauseef and his gang. In view of the sensitivity of the case, the police have registered a case and arrested four accused.

About a month and a half before the attack on Madhu, a mob of Muslims stabbed Hindu activist Harsha to spread communal tension in the area. Harsha was stabbed to death by a mob of Muslim youths on the night of February 20 near the Kamat petrol pump in the Shivamogga district of Karnataka. Harsha was a resident of Sigehatti and worked as a tailor. Harsha belonged to the Hindu outfit Bajrang Dal and was seen wearing a saffron shawl during a demonstration in support of school-college uniforms. One of his friends had said that Harsha had been the target of these people for a few weeks and his murder was a "well-planned conspiracy." He was also threatened in 2015 by fundamentalists over a post of social media 'blasphemy.' There was a massive protest in the district after the brutal killing of Bajrang Dal activist Harsha. Due to this, the government imposed a curfew in the district and closed down all educational institutions.
