Telangana Chief Minister Rao, who was in Delhi to lay the foundation stone for the new building of Telangana Bhavan in Vasant Vihar, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, it was learned during the 50-minute meeting. The issue of the ongoing water war between the two Telugu states, the Centre's decision to hand over the management jurisdiction of the two rivers, the Krishna and the Godavari, and projects on them to the Krishna and Godavari River Management Boards figure prominently. KCR wanted the Center to see that the two Telugu states share Krishna water in the ratio of 50:50. KCR also requested the Prime Minister to inaugurate the Yadadri temple.

KCR submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister on 10 issues including increase in the number of IPS cadre, Hyderabad-Nagpur industrial development. IIM (Indian Institute of Management) in the corridor, Hyderabad, IIT (Indian Institute of Technology, Karimnagar) and Tribal University in Telangana sanctioned. Other demands were the establishment of an integrated state-of-the-art textile park at Warangal. He demanded one thousand crore rupees for the development of the park. Other issues in representation were Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in new districts, upgradation and additional funds for PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana) and road network in Left Wing Extremist (LWE) affected areas.

The Chief Minister requested the PM to increase the IPS cadre from 139 to 195 as the number of districts increased. He further said that the number of Jawahar Navodaya Schools have been established in only nine districts and asked them to set up institutions in 21 rural districts of Telangana. The issue of delay in the establishment of tribal university also came up during the meeting, given information on important issues of the state.
