Kelly Clarkson has announced that she is no longer in a relationship. According to media, Clarkson's marriage to Brandon Blackstock was formally dissolved in early August, a year and three months after she asked for a divorce. According to the paperwork, the couple's marriage or domestic partnership status will also end on January 7, 2022.

Last month, however, it was reported that a court upheld their prenuptial agreement, which meant Clarkson's USD 45 million fortune would be protected. Meanwhile, in July, Clarkson was ordered to pay Blackstock about USD 200k per month in spousal and child support. She's "more than OK," a source told PEOPLE after that. At the time, media reports, "She is doing fine and looking forward." "She appreciates the fact that she has the kids for the most of the time and enjoys spending quality time with them."

In June 2020, Clarkson and Blackstock filed for divorce. In November, Clarkson was given primary physical custody of their daughters River Rose, 7, and Remington Alexander, 5. "She is all about being a parent when she isn't working," a second insider told PEOPLE in August. "She enjoys spending time with her children."

Meanwhile, when a judge affirmed the former couple's prenuptial agreement, Clarkson requested to reclaim her surname in August. Blackstock had contested the arrangement, saying that Clarkson's assets, notably the Montana home where he now resides and money earned during the marriage, should be shared between them instead. When she was granted primary custody of her two children in November 2020, she was "pleased" with the outcome.
